Watercolour Series in Collaboration with Natalie Ryan
Growing up in country Victoria, Natalie’s love of drawing plants and nature began early. Sunday afternoon drives with her grandparents introduced her to beautiful local wildflowers with gorgeous names like Billy Buttons.
After studying Textile Design and later Botanical painting her idea to create unique surface art was sown. Natalie's talent to create stunning watercolours of Australia’s distinctive flora are a match made.
Natalie’s artworks are created in an old farmhouse surrounded by a rambling country garden first planted by her grandparents in 1900. She uses traditional techniques starting with paper and pencil, then adding watercolour. The next step is to scan the piece, creating a seamless tile repeat to send to the textile printer. The textile digital printing process allows every painted nuance to be translated onto printed fabric!
Meander Design is drawn from life and connects you to a beautiful field of wildflowers, or the shade of eucalypts by a peaceful stream. Be transported to the country with our Watercolour Series in collaboration with Natalie Ryan.
